The HR Watchdog App (the "Application") is operated and maintained by the California Chamber of Commerce ("CalChamber"). Your privacy is one of our primary concerns so we make every effort to provide you with a safe and private environment. This Privacy Policy tells you what information we gather and how we use it. Please read it carefully.
This Privacy Policy applies to the information collected by us on or in connection with the Application and any CalChamber websites you may visit through the Application. It does not cover any information collected by a third party, including third-party websites that may be linked to CalChamber websites. If you click on any link or ad within the Application, you will be directed to the specific website identified in the link or which is associated with the ad. Once you have landed on that specific website, the privacy policy of that website will govern while you view that online content. We recommend you review the privacy policies associated with all websites you may visit.
By downloading, purchasing, accessing and/or otherwise using the Application, you affirmatively consent to our collection and use of information in accordance with the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy will remain in full force and effect, even if your use of the Application terminates, expires, ceases, is suspended or is deactivated for any reason. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not purchase, download, access or otherwise use the Application.
For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, "Business Partners" means any subcontractor, vendor or other entity with whom CalChamber has an ongoing business relationship to provide products, services or information.
Information We Collect
As you visit CalChamber websites through the Application, we may ask you to provide personal information when you:
- Request services, support or information;
- Place orders for products or services;
- Participate in surveys, sweepstakes or other promotional activities;
- Share CalChamber content through social media;
- Subscribe to newsletters, download white papers or other materials;
- Use CalChamber websites or;
- Contact us.
Information we may request includes, but is not limited to, your email address, name, title, address, telephone number, social media public profile, advocacy areas of interest, advocacy contacts or business/company information. If you make a purchase or donation, we may ask for your credit card number and billing information. Forms that you may fill in will indicate whether information requested is required or optional.
The Application also collects non-identifiable information such as download errors, times launched, access times, content visited, and ads viewed when you launch, access, interact with and/or otherwise use the Application.
In addition, we collect information about your visits to CalChamber websites, including the pages you view, the links and ads you click, search terms you enter, and other actions you take in connection with CalChamber websites and services. In addition, we collect certain information from the browser you used to access a CalChamber website, such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type and language, access times, the Uniform Resource Locator (URL) of the website that referred you to the CalChamber website and to which website you browse.
Finally, if this Application was downloaded from iTunes, as part of the download process, Apple asks if you would like to provide us your name, email address, and zip code. If you indicated yes, that information will be provided to us by Apple.
In order to offer you a more consistent and personalized experience in your interactions with CalChamber websites, information collected through one source may be combined with information obtained through other CalChamber resources. We may also supplement the information we collect with information obtained from other parties.
Some CalChamber offerings may be co-branded and offered in conjunction with another company. If you register for or use such offerings, both CalChamber and the other company may receive information collected in conjunction with the co-branded services, and may use the information according to each company's privacy policy and other agreements with you.
Information Usage
CalChamber uses your personal information to:
- Deliver the services and support or carry out the transactions you have requested;
- Send communications to you, such as your transaction status (for example, order confirmations), information about products and services, advocacy updates, promotional offers, and surveys;
- Customize, analyze and improve our products, services, technologies, communications and relationship with you;
- Protect the security or integrity of CalChamber websites, our business, or our products or services; or
- Otherwise, as disclosed to you at the point of collection.
Disclosing Your Information
CalChamber shares your information with Business Partners to carry out the transactions you request, to provide services to you, to provide you with information you may find useful (for example, partner discounts and advocacy updates), to customize and improve our products and services, so that you can share through social media, and/or to update records. In addition, we may disclose your information when legally required or to protect our rights.
Collection and Use of Children's Information
This Application and CalChamber websites are not directed toward children. We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13 years. If you are under 18 years of age, please do not submit any personal information through this Application or a CalChamber website without the express consent and participation of a parent or guardian.
Cookies and Tracking
CalChamber websites use "cookies" to enable you to sign in to our services and to track your traffic patterns. A cookie is a text file that is placed on your computer's hard drive. Cookies help us personalize and make improvements to CalChamber websites so that you can have a pleasant and productive experience. You can set your browser to send a warning message before accepting cookies or to refuse cookies. Check your browser for instructions on how to handle cookies. If you choose to decline cookies, you may not be able to use all of the features of CalChamber websites.
Online Behavioral Advertising
CalChamber also works with third party advertising and personalization partners that use cookies to help us display personalized content and appropriate advertising during your visits to CalChamber websites and other websites. These cookies identify the pages you view, the links and ads you click on, other actions you take on those web pages, and the site from which you came before arriving at a web page. This also helps us measure the performance of our advertising campaigns.
Third parties use these cookies to deliver advertising for CalChamber to you on the Internet, whether you are on CalChamber websites or other websites, based on your visits to CalChamber websites.

"Do Not Track" Signals
Please note that while you may have the ability to opt-out of targeted advertising through the http://www.networkadvertising.org/choices link above and you may be able to control the use of cookies through your web browser as described in the "Cookies and Tracking" section above, some web browsers may give you the ability to enable a "do not track" setting that sends a special signal to the websites you encounter while web browsing. This is different from disabling certain forms of tracking by declining cookies in your browser settings, as browsers with the "do not track" setting enabled still have the ability to accept cookies. CalChamber does not respond to web browser "do not track signals" at this time. If we do so in the future, we will describe how we do so in this Privacy Policy.
Email Marketing
Some marketing you receive, including email marketing, may also be personalized based on your use of the Application. When you click on some links in the email marketing, our email service provider may place a cookie on your browser. This cookie would be linked to your email address and used to gather information about the products and services you view on CalChamber websites. Information gathered may be used to personalize and customize future email marketing messages you receive. You may opt out of receiving email marketing by clicking on the unsubscribe link provided in the email message you receive from CalChamber.
Third Party Websites
Please be aware that other websites that may be accessed through the Application may collect personal information about you. The information practices of those third-party websites are not covered by this Privacy Policy. CALCHAMBER DOES NOT HAVE ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE PRACTICES OF ENTITIES AND/OR WEBSITES THAT ARE NOT OWNED BY THE CALIFORNIA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.
Credit Card Data
Through the Application, you may be able to access CalChamber websites that allow you to make purchases or donations using bank or credit card information. CalChamber recognizes your concerns about web commerce and transactions using bank and credit card information. Therefore, CalChamber is committed to keeping personal information secure during commerce transactions by using a secured SSL encryption with all direct transactions that involve using credit card or banking information.
Notification of Privacy Changes
CalChamber reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time. When changes are made, they will be posted. Your continued use of the Application after we post a revised Privacy Policy signifies your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy. It is therefore important that you review this Privacy Policy regularly to ensure you are updated as to any changes.
